In the 1950's Lufkin sales double as the company expands into several new areas of operation. Lufkin purchases Master Rule Company, gaining a method of printing tape measurements more efficiently, and Anson Stick Company, enabling it to prepare hard maple lath for folding wood rules near its source in Maine. A manufacturing and sales outlet for Lufkin products is established in Mexico City and a dial indicator business, Lufkin Caribe, is started in Puerto Rico.
